Crockpot "Spiced" Country Style Pork Ribs
This was what I like to call a "dump" recipe! As in dump a few things into the crock pot, add in a bunch of spices and see what happens. ;)
I was MORE than pleasantly surprised. I wanted to come up with a pork recipe that would compliment my homemade crockpot apple sauce (in a separate post if you would like the recipe!) and this was absolutely perfect for it-- just the right combination of sweet and spice, and it was super tender! This will absolutely be a recipe I keep for our fall favorites! Your whole family will love it!
And it is really simple, like all of my recipes! The easier, the better right?!
Here is what you will need:
-1.5 lbs Country Style Pork Ribs
-1 medium yellow onion, sliced
-1/2 tsp cinnamon
-1 tsp garlic powder
-1/2 tsp ground ginger
-1/2 tsp ground clove
-3 Tbsp apple jelly
-1/8 cup water
How to make it:
Pour your water into the bottom of the crock pot and add your sliced onion. Lay country style pork ribs on top, across the bottom of pot, so they are all touching the bottom if possible (this way they will evenly soak up the flavors as they cook!).
Sprinkle all of the spices evenly over the pork ribs. Add in the apple jelly.
It will look like below.
I cooked it on high for 4 hours. You can also cook it on low for 6 hours. It is best to flip once while they are cooking if you can, so they soak up the flavors evenly!
Once they are cooked, you can serve them with anything you like! I served it with a side of homemade apple sauce, and on top of brown rice. I spooned a little of the drippings from the bottom of the pot and some of the onions on top of my rice. SO GOOD! ;)
I hope you love it as much as we do!
